"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."- Leonardo Da Vinci
Following his graduation from Idaho State University as a three-time Big Sky conference champion pole vaulter, Pat started his accounting career with a Big Four firm in Denver. He then spent a short period with Boise Paper where he oversaw the financial accounting and reporting for one of their large paper mills.
After being enticed with tickets to a University of Oregon football game, Pat agreed to meet with Kernutt Stokes partners and employees to learn more about the firm, and soon after joined Kernutt Stokes in early 2008. He vaulted right in as his first day coincided with the first day of one of Kernutt Stokes’ largest audits, meaning he met his team and the client all on his first day.
Pat is the partner-in-charge of audit and attestation and leads the Audit and Accounting Steering Committee for the firm. As part of his responsibilities, Pat works with committee members to develop firm guidelines to ensure quality control standards are met or exceeded, as well as provide meaningful continuing education and technical updates to staff and other members of the firm. Pat likes the new challenges that come with each day, and appreciates the smart and talented team around him, which pushes him to do better each day. And for Pat, nothing beats providing value to the firm’s clients.
Pat and his wife Heather live in Junction City and have four kids. They love being out on the lake with family and friends waterskiing, wakeboarding, surfing, tubing, and just relaxing in the sun. They spend a lot of time supporting their kids in their sporting events, and Pat also coaches pole vault at Junction City High School. Pat likes to play around with the guitar, but so far has been too shy to play in front of anyone. All these years after being enticed to Kernutt Stokes with Duck tickets, Pat still enjoys watching Oregon football, basketball, and track and field.
