Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Candidate must have completed 1 or more years as a tax accountant at a certified public accounting firm
  • In process of taking the CPA exam
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field with 225 quarter credits completed
Expectations for the Position:
  • Prepare moderately difficult project returns without material review comments
  • Prepare complex tax project returns
  • Perform research and reach logical, well-supported technical conclusions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Primary and Secondary levels of taxation authority (code, regulation, case law)
  • Demonstrate high-level analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Develop and maintain technical specialization
  • Understand the short- and long-term consequences when making decisions
  • Make appropriate referrals to department leaders of client raised issues
Project Management:
  • Draft email questions/communication to senior/manager in a clear professional manner with minimal changes before being sent on to a partner or client

Experienced Assurance Associate | Eugene, Corvallis, Bend

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Completed 1 or more years as an assurance accountant at a certified public accounting firm
  • In process of taking the CPA exam
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with 225 quarter credits completed
Expectations of the Position:
  • Draft financial statements, including cash flows, and footnotes, for GAAP and OCBOA basis financial and clear Partner comments
  • Perform research and reach logical, well-supported technical conclusions and document them in a memo or appropriate workpaper
  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, SSARS, etc.
  • Prepare Communication with Management section without material review comments
  • Understand analytic variance questions before asking client to comment on them
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and draw conclusions on issues

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance from an accredited college/university required
  • CPA eligible preferred or in the process to become one
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a public accounting firm
  • Experience in tax preparation and tax planning with multi-state partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, trusts, and high net worth individuals
Tax Technical Expectations:
  • Prepare highly complex project return without material review comments
  • Review basic tax returns as requested
  • Stay current on relevant and emerging specialty, industry, market, tax, and accounting issues and communicate to firm members and clients
  • Ensure that significant transactions and account balances are properly identified, researched, documented, and resolved
  • Demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge of tax law and regulation on their applications
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the tax research process
  • Recognize potential tax issues and tax planning strategies
Project Management Requirements:
  • Serve as primary contact for assigned engagements
  • Develop Strong working relationship with appropriate client personnel

Assurance Senior | Eugene, Corvallis, Bend

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Completed three or more busy seasons as an assurance accountant at a CPA firm
  • CPA eligible preferred or in the process to become one
  • Possess technical knowledge in GAAP, GAAS, and OCBOA sufficient to supervise staff accountants, and evaluate their progress when appropriate
Expectations of the Job:
  • Lead audit and other assurance engagements by assuming responsibility for the supervision and completion of assigned engagements
  • Review workpapers and financial statements (GAAP and OCBOA), answer client questions, and clear concurring reviewer comments
  • Ensure that material items are properly identified, researched, documented, and resolved
  • Understand the scope of each engagement and can appropriately document and apply risk assessment procedures/standards
  • Demonstrate high-level analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deal successfully with more complex accounting issues (e.g. consolidations, process cost accounting, complicated deferred tax calculations)
