We are currently hiring for:

Virtual Accounting Staff Accountant

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or similar, and/or extensive experience providing basic accounting services.
  • Proficiency with computerized accounting and, spreadsheet software programs, specifically QuickBooks Online and Excel.
  • Minimum one year of experience with QuickBooks Online, bank reconciliations, and full-charge bookkeeping service is required.
  • Organized, detail-oriented with solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Expectations for the Position
  • Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using Quickbooks Online.
  • Posts transactions that result in accurate financial statements.
  • Prepares bank reconciliations.
  • Processes accounts payable invoices using BILL.
  • Prepares payroll, quarterly and year end payroll tax filings.
  • Reconciles accounts to control accounts.
  • Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
  • Assists in proofing financial statements, budgets and board reports.
  • Collaborates with VA team to balance workload and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Communicates directly with clients on their day-to-day accounting needs.
  • Performs other accounting, as needed, in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Work Conditions
  • Overtime work, as needed, throughout the year. January is a busy month due to year-end close. The first two to three weeks of the month are busier due to month-end close.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday work in-office (Bend, Corvallis or Eugene) preferred for first 90 days of employment. Hybrid or fully remote option available thereafter.
  • Payroll Specialist/General Ledger Accountant

    As our payroll specialist/general ledger accountant, you’ll report to and work closely with our CFO to handle various accounting and payroll tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and innovative team that values your contributions. This role offers a hybrid work schedule after a probationary period so you can enjoy the best of both worlds — working from home Mondays and Fridays and in our Eugene office the rest of the week.

    Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Minimum two years of full-cycle accounting and payroll experience.
  • Strong tech skills. Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Solid technical accounting skills, with an understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience in payroll preparation.
  • Proficiency in computer software; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Great interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships at all levels.
  • Discretion in handling confidential business matters and information.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Expectations for the Position
  • Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and year-end close.
  • Help prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct data analytics for different departments within the firm.
  • Process monthly payroll and other benefit-related payments accurately and on time.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments.
  • Assist HR in providing onboarding and training for new employees on policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
  • Support the annual compensation committee with modeling and compensation research.
  • Organize physical and digital files for employee documents, benefits, and timekeeping records.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
  • Develop models to aid in decision-making.
