Combining a strong passion and love of learning, teaching, and accounting, Amy is well suited for her role as a senior instructor at Oregon State University’s College of Business and as a member of Kernutt Stokes’ virtual accounting team. She has presented on a number of accounting topics across the country and her writing has been published in the International Journal of Digital Accounting.

Her accounting career began in Dallas, Texas, where she worked for a Big Four firm before working as a financial accountant for Cook Children’s hospital. While working for the hospital, she began teaching at a community college and Texas Christian University, before moving to Houston, where she taught at the University of Houston. Her life mission was to be a college professor in Oregon, and she accomplished that when she began working at Oregon State University in 2007. She later joined Kernutt Stokes in 2023.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Amy and her husband have three kids, a dog that is more like a stuffed animal that moves, and two beta fish that loves to pet. She enjoys hiking, exercising, studying healthy eating, needlepoint, stained glass, knitting, and watching sports. She also volunteers with incarcerated adolescents in Oregon through Youth for Christ, where she can give those youth hope that they can start their lives over.
