"I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him."- Abraham Lincoln
With a career that spans public accounting, industry, government, and even the Oregon Legislature gives Katie a perspective few can match. Along the way, she worked as a bookkeeper in college, served in the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, and spent time with Big Four firms before returning to public accounting. She joined Kernutt Stokes as part of the firm’s acquisition of Fordham & Co in 2026. This breadth of experience gives Katie a perspective that clients immediately recognize and value.
Katie enjoys tax work because it feels like solving a puzzle. She has a natural ability to see the logic, understand the nuance, and apply it in a way that fits each client’s situation. Just as important, she enjoys the people side of the work, learning from her clients, understanding what matters to them, and helping them move forward with clarity and confidence.
Katie lives in Beaverton, and outside of work, she is centered on family. She considers her three adult children her life’s greatest work, and her grandchildren bring her endless laughter and joy. She also loves traveling, volunteering, crocheting, playing instruments, and a good excuse to shop for shoes.
